This week we are using color theory as a means for a unit study. Color theory is a wonderful way to introduce physics, vision (senses), art, literature and history.
Throughout the week, I will be providing you with resources, workbooks and activities that you can use to develop your own color theory lesson.
I hope you like it!
Reading is the cornerstone of my homeschool curriculum. Every week we go to the library or visit the bookstore to pick up 8-12 books. Our lesson does not determine the books; rather, the books determine the lessons.
For example, if we pick up a book of Theodore Roosevelt, then our history unit for the week revolves around that time. Or if we have been knee deep in talking about geometry (which we have!), then a book on geometry can be fun and it allows me to make the daily math work fun.
In an effort to help you and your child get the most out of homeschooling, I am going to try and deliver my list of books every Friday for the following week. I have provided Amazon links below. I will disclose that I get a kickback if you buy the book from them, but I only provide links to books that we are actually reading. The money helps keep the site alive.
Like I said, I create my weekly lessons around the books we pick out. This week, we are reading books that have to do with "being a person," rain, Paul Erdos, Alice Roosevelt, measuring weight, and wolves. Below the books is my lesson plan for the week. Feel free to adapt it, follow it and use it at your leisure.
Looking for Workbooks?
I've placed all of my workbooks in the RESOURCES section of the website. You can buy them directly from me or find them on major retailers' sites.
You can also download them. I ask that you leave a donation if you download them to help pay for the workbooks for families who have a hard time buying them all.

Regular Contributor & Guest Post Opportunity
Want to be a regular contributor? Look at the channels I have and if you are interested, send me your writing resume, and what you would write about if you were brought on. This is not a paid opportunity at the moment, but will be in the future.
I'm looking for killer guest posts too. Do you have one? I don't require that you have the entire post completed before contacting me...that seems silly. Shoot me an email and we will throw some topics around and get to know each other better.
Contact me here. I will be honest though; I am not one of the blog folks who believes in littering her website with countless videos and unattractive, over-the-top ads. If you want seamless integration and actual conversions, let's talk. If you prefer a more "Goodie Store Array", I'm not your gal.
